This video might be more personal than some can imagine.
I think Rock N Roller Steve Miller not only saw Les Paul perform when Steve was a child but also was a witness for the ceremony when Les married Mary Ford. The ceremony, again I think I recall, was in the home of Steve’s parents. My son and I saw Les play in New York a few months before he passed.
In my bad presentation for the Rotary Club a few years ago, I talked about Tennessee Waltz having been an early hit in both the U.S. and here in Japan. In discussions with my wife, we broadened our concepts of state songs to Georgia On My Mind after hearing Ray Charles. Then I found Peter Frampton as an instrumentalist. Unusual, unlikely?
I mean the axiom goes if it bleeds it leads. That is a journalism thing. We think the masses are most interested in recent or nearby violence. In this thing I find so important, there was no bleeding, no hint of violence. A positive thing, less pain and suffering – a cure for cancer. Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong sits down with Jon Stewart. WWE is truly a world-wide show. In focusing on my favorite star, I am not so much about the show. I’m much more about the language. She uses English in parts where she has confidence and then Japanese where she lets the subtitles take over. She is Asuka for WWE but uses Kana as she identifies on YOU TUBE. I was sort of a fan with each my sons in different eras.
Jay Leno is about cars; I’m about him.
Jay’s garage is a YOU TUBE thing, but he often said “this web site.” I saw him do stand-up in Hermosa Beach at the Comedy and Magic Club. I parked the rented Honda 750 right in front of the place. Don’t remember what year, but t’was before I got married which works out to be something like 2003. I think the important thing about Jay is that he expected to enjoy cars, AND he expected to make money making folks laugh.
